Ms. Kutty has six years of consumer fraud experience serving as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York under both the Eliot Spitzer and Andrew M. Cuomo administrations. She recovered for New York State $425,000 in civil penalties and $50,000 in costs in a settlement against Jos. A. Bank Clothiers for misleading or false advertising with sale prices that involved little or no discounting of merchandise.
Ms. Kutty also handled the investigation and settlement against Morgan Stanley DW Inc. for failure to supervise a rogue broker. She obtained $740,000 in restitution for victims and $300,000 in costs and penalties for the State of New York. Both cases received national media coverage. Her civil litigation experience handling consumer investigations gave her excellent legal acumen to handle complex property division cases involving business evaluations, retirement instruments, tracing and characterization of property.
In addition, Ms. Kutty has nine years of family law experience in New York and Texas serving as an ad litem attorney for children, representing victims of domestic violence in family court, serving as a temporary assistant attorney general for over two years in the Child Support Division of the Office of the Texas State Attorney General, and practicing family law as a solo practitioner for over 6 years..
